Stop Fighting Your Preform Heat
If you’ve spent any time around high-speed PET blowing, you know the headache. You’re pushing for speed, but the heat just isn’t getting to the core. You end up with uneven walls or, even worse, bottles that burst. It’s frustrating. That’s exactly why we built our replacement lamps for Aoki blowers. We wanted to fix that “cold core” problem specifically for Husky HyPET setups. Getting the heat where it actually matters Here’s the thing about PET: it doesn’t just soak up any heat. You need the right kind. We use short-wave infrared technology because it actually matches how PET absorbs energy. By bumping up the wattage and dialing in the voltage, we push more heat into every square millimeter of the plastic. The result? Your preforms hit that glass transition temperature way faster. You can crank up the machine speed and still get a bottle that looks and feels right. No headaches during install Nobody wants to spend their weekend rewiring an oven. We kept it simple. Our lamps use high-purity quartz, so they don’t just pop the moment things get hot. They come with standard R7s or SK15 connectors, meaning they’re a total drop-in replacement. You just slide them into the existing footprint and you’re good to go. Plus, we use an internal halogen cycle. This stops the filament from gunking up the glass, so the light stays clear and the heat stays consistent for thousands of hours. A quick heads-up Now, there is a trade-off. These lamps put out a massive amount of energy. Because they’re so powerful, your oven’s ventilation has to keep up. If your cooling fans are dusty or your airflow is sluggish, you might scorch the surface of the plastic before the inside is even warm. Before you start your run, just double-check your airflow specs. And do yourself a favor: grab a pyrometer and spend a few minutes dialing in your power settings. It makes all the difference.
