Stop Wasting Time Waiting for Your KOSME KSB 4000 to Warm Up
If you’re running a SACMI rotary blow molding machine, you know the drill. Cycle time is everything. Every second you spend waiting for the oven to catch up is a second you’re losing money. That’s why we built our replacement lamps for the KOSME KSB 4000. We wanted something that could keep up with those fast rhythms without lagging during the heating phase.
Getting the Heat Right, Faster
Here is the deal: your PET preform needs to hit a very specific temperature before it stretches. If it’s off, you’ve got a problem. We used high-wattage quartz halogen tech to cut down that ramp-up time. By tweaking the filament geometry, we basically stripped away the “sluggishness” of the heating element. The result? The lamp hits the target temperature faster. You get a quicker start-up and—more importantly—way fewer rejects while the machine is warming up.
No Headaches During Install
Nobody wants to spend their weekend rewiring an oven. These are drop-in replacements. They match the footprint and connectors of the original KOSME units exactly. You just pop them in and go. We also treated the quartz envelope so it doesn’t crack under the stress of rapid heating and cooling. Plus, we used heavy-duty electrodes. They can take the punch of constant power modulation without burning out at the ends.
One Small Catch
Now, there is a trade-off. When you push more wattage into a small tube, you’re putting a lot of stress on your oven’s reflectors. If those reflectors are dirty or pitted, they won’t bounce that infrared energy back where it belongs. Instead, the lamp just runs hotter than it should. **Keep your reflectors polished.**It’s a simple step, but it stops your tubes from failing early. When these lamps are humming along in a SACMI line, that “unstable” window during start-up pretty much disappears. You get steady heat across the preform, which means your wall thickness stays uniform. Simple as that.
