We also use standard snap-in connectors (like the R7s), which makes life way easier for the guy who has to replace them later. But here’s the thing: you have to be smart about the power. A high-wattage tube puts out a ton of heat, but it puts a lot of stress on your electrical panel. If you’re installing a whole row of these in a locker room, make sure your wiring can handle that initial surge of power when they all kick on at once. A few tips on installation These are built for damp environments, but the bulbs themselves are pretty fragile. We wrap them in reflective aluminum casings—not just to push the heat forward, but to make sure a stray elbow doesn’t shatter the quartz. One last word of advice: shortwave IR is powerful. If you mount them too low, you’re going to scorch whatever is underneath them. Get your spacing right, and it feels like a luxury spa. Get it wrong, and it’s just too hot.
