We built this electric heater around a 400V halogen lamp—300mm long, punching 2500W, in a footprint that stays out of the way. The 400V part is the quiet hero. It drops the current for the same wattage, so your wiring runs stay cooler and you lose less power along the way. And the 300mm length? That’s all about focus. It concentrates the heat into a tight hot zone, so you’re heating the exact spot that needs it—not the whole machine bay.
Built to Take the Grind
Inside, you’ve got a quartz tube filled with halogen gas. It keeps the element clean and holds output steady, shift after shift. The coating is there for the rough moments—thermal shock and chemical exposure from process atmospheres don’t throw it off. We went with an R7s connector because it locks in fast, handles high current, and makes replacement dead simple. When a tube goes, you swap it straight in—no hunting for custom brackets, no extra headaches.
Where It Shines—And What to Plan For
This setup is made for industrial heating where you need heat on demand and a lot of it—plastic heating, curing, hitting localized hot spots on a production line. At 2500W and 400V, you get serious heat fast. But that kind of density also means more ambient heat in the enclosure. So plan your cooling and clearances before you wire it up. And make sure your control can handle the inrush current—match the lamp to a control that won’t get caught off guard.
